La Roca (Fresno)
New Building & Programming - $412,222
Without a building to call home, this New Worshiping Community (NWC) has been serving residents in the Northwest area of Fresno. Recently, God has presented an opportunity through donated property to serve more people and build a core group in this region. The congregation is motivated and full of hope for a future building where congregants can plan outreach activities, worship, and share life together.
Casa de Dios (Orosi)
New Facilities & Programming - $210,000
In Orosi there is a great opportunity to develop a NWC that is capable of reaching local residents with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This rural community is small, but the needs are mighty - particularly with children and youth. The goal for this project is a Youth Community Center with an outdoor Soccer arena where local families can gather.
Centro Cristiano Agua Viva (Hanford)
Building Purchase & Programming - $350,000
This NWC has a passion for church planting and several years ago planted a satellite ministry in Hanford. This satellite has worshiped on Sunday evenings in various leased facilities in Hanford. The congregation has rapidly grown, received a General Assembly seed grant to expand the ministry, and is looking to purchase its own church facility.
Nuevo Amanecer (Bakersfield)
Retiring Current Loan Balance - $90,000
This new church development began in 2002 and will charter as a church in 2019. On any given Sunday, the faithful from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Cuba, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Venezuela, and Colombia are in worship. Sunday School for the children is faithfully provided, youth meet regularly, and a mid-week Bible Study is led by well-trained lay leadership. Vision 2020 will help them pay off the church mortgage.
Woven Community (Fresno)
Programming - $40,000
This NWC was planted in 2013 aiming to reach young adults and families who had become disenfranchised with church and needed a safe space to learn, process, and grow in their faith. Woven adapts traditions of the Presbyterian Church USA, and seeks Jesus in everyday life. They meet for worship on Sunday evenings, provide Sunday School classes for children and youth, and host non-traditional outreach events throughout the year.
River of Grace (Madera)
Land Purchase & Programming - $311,250
Picture it: A neighborhood of over 200,000 people building their lives and their new community. Our hope is to start a church that is open and loving, willing to serve, and reaching out to this new and growing neighborhood. We desire to share the love of Jesus with those moving into the large, new developments planned in this community. We want to be there from the beginning, to be a place that is known for grace and mercy for these new residents.
New Church Plant (Bakersfield)
Land Purchase & Programming - $286,250
Kern County, where Bakersfield resides, is the fastest growing county in our presbytery. It also has one of the largest influx of millennial residents in the nation, who are fleeing the high living costs of Los Angeles and Bay Area communities. Our desire is to plant a NWC in west Bakersfield, an area which has seen the most growth and is under-churched.
